Fabrication Services

In addition to supplying lighting and power poles, we can provide specialist services for the design, supply of materials, fabrication, and protective coating for a wide range of steel products and structures.

The principal Directors have been involved in this industry since 1964, and managed the fabrication of more than 300,000 tonnes of steel plate and sections for wharves, bridges, offshore construction, tunnels, machine building and general engineering.  Typical examples of our current and recent projects include:

 

Sign Structures:

• VMS in Portal and Cantilever design.
• Signboard in Portal and Cantilever design.
• Special and made-to-order signs.
• All available in galvanized or 2 coat epoxy paint system, with or without full access walkways and/or caged ladders.

 

Cranes:

We manufacture main structural components for various types of electric cranes.  Our sister company – Austin Hoist and Crane Pty. Ltd. provides designs and shop drawings which enable complete and efficient fabrication and delivery to their fit-out area (adjacent to our workshop) in minimum time.  Types include:

Bridge/Gantry - Up to 45m span and 65 tonne capacity. Used mainly in factories, storage yards and warehouses

Portal Cranes - Usually installed in existing buildings where modifying or up-grading existing footings is not possible. Larger cranes for Pre-cast yards and construction operations  e.g. bridge building are built to customer requirements.

Jib Cranes - Used as an aid to manufacture or assembly of light to medium weight components 50 to 5000 kg. capacity.  Full 360 degree rotation around column.

Monorails - Available in kit form for attaching to existing (or new) roof structures, or purpose designed for specific projects.

 

Bridge beams:

Design and fabrication of welded plate beams for bridges, wharves and temporary works in construction.  Limited in size and mass only by transportability.

 

Steel formwork:

Design and supply of steel formwork for major structures including pier and crosshead moulds for M1 freeway, table and wall forms for Melbourne Casino and Eureka tower, curved wall forms and table forms fitted with curved beamsides for No.1 Bligh Street, Sydney.  Hundreds of specialized forms for curved concrete tank panels, walkways, handrails, tapered beams, tee beams and small precast products.
